Jeana Marie Russell 12-06-2009 Jeana Marie Russell, 24, of Monessen, formerly of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Sunday December 6, 2009. She was born on August 1, 1985, in Carroll Township, a daughter of Alma Jean Comer Russell who survives and resides in Smithton, and the late Karl Lee Russell who died on November 12, 2004. Jeana was a Ringgold High School graduate, class of 2003 and a very devoted mother and daughter. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter Natili Marie Chipps at home; two sisters Jennifer Russell of Forward Twp., Jessica Russell of New Castle; brother Robert Russell of Rostraver Twp.; and her maternal grandfather Robert Comer of Ruff Creek. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Alma Miller Comer. Friends will be received 6-9 Wednesday in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Milinovich officiating. Interment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Jeana's memory be made to the Frye Funeral Home.
Jeanne Bates 05-11-2012 Jeanne Bates, 90, of Finleyville, (Union Township), died Friday, May 11, 2012 in Thorpes Personal Care Home, Charleroi. She was born April 12, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Archie and Marguerite Meister Kennedy. Mrs. Bates was a graduate of Monongahela High School, class of 1942. She was a member of Mingo Creek Presbyterian Church in Finleyville and member and former treasurer of it's Women's Association. She was formerly employed by Feick Surgical Supply of Pittsburgh and had retired from Radio Ear in McMurray. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia M. Boyd King of East Stroudsburg, Bonnie A. and husband Richard Rubino of Monongahela; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie Weis and Tiffany Marie Rubino; two great granddaughters, Kalie and Felicia Weis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm D. Bates who died in1984; brother, Richard Archie Kennedy who died in infancy and son-in-law, John King. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jeffrey "Mac" McFall 06-30-2013 Jeffrey "Mac" McFall, 50, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 30, 2013 in his home. He was born May 30, 1963 in New Eagle, the son of Virginia Fawcett Morris of New Eagle and the late Lawrence McFall. Mac was the former owner of D&M Construction in Monongahela and was presently employed at Therm-O-Rock in New Eagle. He was a member of the Slovak American Citizens Club in Monongahela and enjoyed watching sports on TV. Mac was a fun loving man who enjoyed joking around. He was honest, dependable and loved by everyone who knew him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiance' Patty Morris with whom he spent the past twelve years; son, Miles McFall of China; sister, Nancy and husband Bob Kepics of Monongahela; two brothers, James and wife Penny Rosenburg of Florida, William and wife Ethel Rosenburg of Irwin; nieces and nephews, Lisa Sutts of Monongahela, Frank and wife Amy Sutts of Monongahela, JJ and wife Rose Rosenburg of Irwin, Vicki Theoni of Florida; great nieces and nephews, Briana Ryan, Chelsea DeBee, Morgan Sutts, Daren and Dylan Rosenburg, Brandon and Travis Jones; his fiance' Patty's children, Michele Eiler and husband Michael and their children, Ally, Andy and Fisher of Eauclaire, Eddie Crawford and wife Tiffany and their children, Chevy and Cruz of East Brady, CJ Crawford and wife Sherry and their children, Emma, Ella and Maggie of Templeton. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jennie C. Angotti 05-31-2011 Jennie C. Angotti, 93, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Four Oaks Personal Care Home, Monongahela. She was born January 16, 1918 in Gallatin, the daughter of Andrea and Assunta Rivetti DiCaprio. Jennie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and aunt who took pride in caring for her family. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and cleaning. Jennie was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela. She is survived by one son, Anthony Angotti of Monongahela; two grandchildren, Leslie Koziel and husband Bob, Anthony Angotti and wife Shannon; six great grandchildren,Taylor, Lindsey and Anthony Koziel, Chase, Aidan and Gavin Angotti; one brother, James Caprio of North Carolina; one sister, Sue Gnora of Monessen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles P. Angotti who died June 16, 1998, daughter-in-law Polly Angotti; four brothers, Anthony, Andrew " Cab", Patsy "Willie" and Louis Caprio; two sisters, Angeline Fadool and Lucy Massari. There will be NO public visitations for Mrs. Angotti. Friends and family are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Friday, June 3, at 10:00 AM in Transfiguration Church with the Rev. George Chortos, pastor as celebrant. For those attending the mass, you are asked to meet at the church. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Jennie C. Affinito 10-12-2009 Jennie C. Affinito, of Monongahela, died Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Born in Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Caligino DeStefon. Jennie was a graduate of Charleroi High School where she enjoyed swimming and playing basketball. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, a homemaker who especially loved cooking for her "grandkids" and had a passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Rosalie and Jeannene Affinito, Bernadette and husband Lee Kramer and Mark and wife Kathy Affinito, all of Monongahela, and Bernard R. and wife Billreda Affinito of Dresden, Ohio; eight grandchildren Patrick and wife Donna Kramer of Monongahela, Tim Kramer of Carnegie, Christine and husband Brian Wagner of Nashport, Ohio, B. Michael Affinito of Columbus, Ohio, Mark A. Jr., Jennie M., Dominick B. and Anthony J. Affinito, all of Monongahela; four great grandchildren Leah and Jared Kramer, Matthew and Lizzie Wagner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard J. Affinito who died February 18, 1993, three brothers Joseph, Sam and Anthony DeStefon and a sister Theresa Corbelli. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony's Church with the Rev. Joseph Feltz, pastor as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery. Jenny Louise Young 07-30-2013 Jenny Louise Young, 82, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Consulate Health Care, North Strabane Twp. She was born January 6, 1931 in Elizabeth Township, a daughter of the late William and Ethel Clancy Regal. She was a member of Mingo Creek Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Monongahela High School class of 1948. She loved to take care of her family, take trips to Atlantic City and was an avid bingo player. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia and her husband Richard Tatar of Monongahela, Lisa Porto and her husband George Bandalo of Woodbridge, VA; three grandchildren, Lyndsi K. Porto, Christopher J. and his wife Tracy Tatar and Brianna L. and her husband Christopher Vesely; three great grandchildren, Jaclyn A. Tatar, Hailey N. Tatar and Grayson D. Vesely; and a sister, Betty and her husband James Rollison of Library. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Charles "Charlie" Young, who died on January 3, 2008. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6-9PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Everyone is invited to meet at the Mingo Presbyterian Church in Finleyville for her funeral service, which will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00AM with the Rev. Jerry Paul Repasky 09-01-2011 Jerry Paul Repasky, 55, of Monongahela, (River Hill), died Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born June 22, 1956 in North Charleroi, the son of Thomas and Helen Protz Repasky with whom he made his home. Jerry was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, class of 1974. He was employed by US Steel, Clairton Works for twenty three years. For several years after that, Jerry worked in the construction business in the Mon Valley area and also at the former Yocolano's Beer Distributor in Monongahela. He was a member of the Slovak Club of Monongahela and a former member of Hoot Owl Athletic Association in New Eagle. Jerry loved spending time with his niece Syd and riding his Harley. In addition to his parents, Jerry is survived by two brothers,Thomas Repasky, Jr. and Ricky Repasky, both of Forward Township, sister, Paula Repasky of Caroll Township; a nephew and two nieces who were very special to him, Jacob Repasky of Forward Township, Jennifer and husband Wade Galloway of Elizabeth, Sydney Repasky of Carroll Township; aunts and uncles, James and Ethel Barkey of Carroll Township who were also his Godparents, Harry and Dolly Cherry of Forward Township, Gary and Barb Roos of West Newton, Donna Dobrinski of Van Voorhis; two very special cousins, Jimmy Paulick and Dale Atkins; and his second family, Danny, Donna, John, and Josh Yocolano; numerous other cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Majoris Repasky and his maternal grandparents, John and Josephine Omachel Protz. Friends will be received on Sunday, September 4, from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. JoAnn Williams 03-06-2013 JoAnn Williams, 73, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in the Washington County Health Center. She was born March 20, 1939 in Ginger Hill, the daughter of the late Gomer Robert and Clara Shaffer Williams. JoAnn was a 1958 graduate of Monongahela High School. For many years, JoAnn did house cleaning for many families throughout the Mon Valley and also was a caregiver to many. Until a few years ago, she helped in preparing ravioli's, gnocchi's and steak bites for Ponce's Place in Monongahela. She enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks with her husband Bob, who may have gone fishing, but JoAnn got to lounge on the beach. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dance recitals with the girls, going to Cody's football games and watching him wrestle on television, watching Caitlyn and Nicole cheer, twirling competitions with Sami in which she was always there to lend a hand. She had a passion for gardening, especially tending to her roses. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her friend, Van Burnworth. She is survived by two daughters, Jody Burnworth and husband Thomas of Monongahela, Bobbie Wiercioch and husband Edward of Muse; four grandchildren, Sami Jo Burnworth, Cody, Nicole, and Caitlyn Wiercioch; sister, Ruby Daugherty and husband Clem of Finleyville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude F. "Bob" Williams who died January 23, 2006, three sisters, Mary Ann who died in infancy, Thelma who died in childhood, Doris DuCarme and a brother, Gomer Williams. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery Association, Tarrs.
Joanna M. Dancer 02-27-2014 Joanna M. Dancer, 65, of Monongahela, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born February 23, 1949 in New Eagle, the daughter of John B. and Florence Zynosky Welsh. Joanna was a graduate of Monongahela High School, class of 1967. In her younger years, she resided in Columbus, Ohio and worked as a DJ, where she met William Dancer, the gentleman to whom she later married. After moving back to Monongahela, she was employed as a secretary at Monongahela Ford until it’s closing. Joanna was an dedicated member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Transfiguration Church in Monongahela. She was a former money counter, planted flowers surrounding the church and devoted her time at the parish flea market, to name a few. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed reading books, especially mysteries. Joanna is survived by her son, Ian Dancer and wife Sara of Metuchen, New Jersey; grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew and Samantha Dancer; two sisters, Patricia Ann Raposo, Bunny Kerekes and husband George, all of Monongahela; one niece and three nephews; three great nieces and seven great nephews; one great great niece; several cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Dancer who died June 30, 1980. Friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Transfiguration Church with the Rev. William Terza and the Rev. Joanne C. Barwell 10-31-2012 Joanne Carol Barwell, 60, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born December 4, 1951 in New Eagle, the daughter of the late William E. Sr. and Mary Frances Munger Adams. Joanne graduated from CCAC South as a health unit coordinator. She had worked in that capacity for over fifteen years at St. Clair Hospital, Mercy Hospital and the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was a member of the River Hill Church of Christ in Monongahela. Joanne enjoyed birds and animals, especially her dogs Duke and Elke. She liked spending time at the YMCA swimming. She loved baking and was the best ziti maker according to her family and friends. Joanne truly loved time spent with her family and being the oldest of twelve children, was like a second mom to her siblings. She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Barwell with whom she celebrated thirty four years of marriage; six sisters and three brothers, Denise and husband Gary Napoli of Elizabeth Twp., Sharon and husband Clyde Hesford of Forward Twp., Deborah and husband Mark Neuherz of Pittsburgh, William Adams, Jr. of Monongahela, Janet and husband Jay Knight of Pittsburgh, Brenda and husband Kevin Machesky of Greenock, Michelle and husband Todd Kennedy of Boston, Randy and wife Kim Adams of Forward Twp., Brian and wife Tammy Adams of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Maryann Adams of Donora; step son, Brian Barwell of Finleyville; step daughter, Linda and husband William Brennen of West Palm Beach, FL; four step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shelly Adams and her brother, Robert Adams. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, November 5 at 6:00 PM at the River Hill Church of Christ, 2105 River Hill Road, Monongahela, with the Rev.
